Tassar silk is a plain weave silk fabric derived from “wild” silk worms. It has irregular thick and thin yarns creating uneven surface and color. This Tassar silk fabric is blue in color with alternate light and dark blue printed patterns and is used for home décor furnishings, in home textiles and other home décor accessories. Color is often uneven, usually referred to as “raw silk”. Tassar silk is also available in other weaves such as velvet and corduroy.
